Open Play
Open Play is available almost every day, giving you plenty of chances to jump in, meet other players, and enjoy time on the courts. If you’re a member, Open Play is always free — no additional charge.
If you’re not a member yet, you can join Open Play with a $12 Day Pass, and paddle rentals are available for $5. Evening and weekend hours tend to be busier, so you may want to reserve a court if you prefer guaranteed playtime.

Chico Pickle & Pong uses the paddle stacking system to ensure that players receive a fair amount of court time during Open Play. This is especially helpful if you are dropping in as a single player and would like to join others in a game.
Paddle stacking is a way to manage the rotation of players during open play sessions, especially when the courts are busy and there are a large number of players waiting to get on the court. It is a common practice to determine the order of play.
How it works: Players who are waiting will place (or ‘stack’) their paddles in the paddle stack racks located on the large wall near Courts 6-10. The order in which the paddles are stacked determines the order of play. The first group of four paddles represents the next group to play on a court when it becomes available. Once a game finishes, the next group of four players will take the court. Players who are finished may place their paddles back at the end of the line to get back in on a new game.

Reserve a Court
If you’re coming with a group or want guaranteed playtime without waiting, reserving a court is the way to go. Booking ahead lets you skip the paddle rack line, choose a court based on availability, and make sure your group has space to play as soon as you arrive. It’s the easiest way to maximize your time on the courts and enjoy a smooth, relaxed experience with family and friends.
Court reservations are handled through CourtReserve, and creating a free account takes just a minute. Once you’re set up, you can view open time slots, select your court, and confirm your reservation before you even walk through the doors. If you need any help, stop by the desk — we’re always happy to get you set up.
