One of the biggest tournaments in the north state, Joola Valley Open 8, is returning to Chico this February and is shaping up to be a really fun four days of pickleball. This early spring edition will be held entirely indoors at Chico Pickle & Pong, featuring 11 dedicated courts, including a championship court with bleacher seating for great viewing. No weather worries, no cracked courts, just solid play and a great atmosphere all weekend.
The tournament runs Thursday through Sunday with singles on Thursday evening, select men’s and women’s divisions on Friday evening, gender doubles on Saturday, and mixed doubles on Sunday. There are 32 divisions total, including optional 55+ brackets, and play is designed to be competitive but welcoming for a wide range of skill levels.
Players can expect round-robin play with multiple guaranteed games, quality medals, prizes for winners, and a big raffle on Sunday afternoon. Off the court, there’s plenty to enjoy too, including food and drinks on site, a massage booth for players, ping pong tables, corn hole, and a full pro shop. Early registrants will also receive a custom event t-shirt.
Registration is open now and closes February 12, 2026. Divisions do fill, so signing up early is recommended.
